The newly crowned European champion, fresh off her gold medal victory yesterday in Birmingham and in peak form, will be taking aim at the Italian record. Challenging her for the win will be a true legend of the discipline: Britain’s Laura Muir, Olympic silver medalist, world bronze medalist, two-time European champion, and winner of an impressive 15 Diamond League meets. It promises to be a lightning-fast race right from the opening meters.
