The lineup for GalAthletics Bellinzona, scheduled for Sunday, August 30 at the Stadio Comunale, continues to build up with international track and field stars, promising another edition of extraordinary technical quality.
Great anticipation surrounds the women’s 1500 meters with the presence of Nadia Batocletti. The newly crowned European champion, fresh off her gold medal victory yesterday in Birmingham and in peak form, will be taking aim at the Italian record. Challenging her for the win will be a true legend of the discipline: Britain’s Laura Muir, Olympic silver medalist, world bronze medalist, two-time European champion, and winner of an impressive 15 Diamond League meets. It promises to be a lightning-fast race right from the opening meters.
The middle-distance excitement continues in the men’s 800 meters, featuring European champion Gabriel Tual as the main contender. On the track alongside him will be Handal Roban, Yanis Meziane, and Swiss champion Ramon Wipfli.
Field events will also feature top-tier athletes: among those announced is world high jump silver medalist JuVaughn Harrison, ready to put on a show after setting his season’s best by clearing 2.34 meters.
